Demolished

In 2007,a total of 9,637 Filipino families were evicted from their homes in squatter areas and about 40 percent were evicted with out relocation. In 2008, President Gloria Macapagal-arroyo promisedthe following: one, that there would be no more demoliitions unless a relocation site was ready for the affected families and two, that 45 days notice would be given to the families whose homes were up for demolition.

At present, numerous families around Metro Manila cry because the promises are too often broken. These evicted families who were neither given a demolition notice nor a relocation site continue to live among the rubble of their former homes.
